Glossary
Terms used throughout these docs.
Round: one play of the game, from betting open to crash and settlement. Rounds are numbered sequentially.
Crash point / multiplier: the value the round reaches before it crashes, expressed as a multiple of the bet (e.g. 2.35x). Internally represented in basis points (BP): 10000 BP = 1.00x.
Auto-cashout: an optional multiplier you set in advance; your bet cashes out automatically the instant the round reaches it, without you needing to click anything.
Forced cashout: a cap on how much any single bet can win, so that one bet can never claim more than a safe share of the bankroll. If your auto-cashout (or the crash point) would exceed that cap, your bet settles at the cap instead. See Payouts & Limits.
Seed: a secret value, part of a long pre-generated hash chain, revealed by Astro only after a round closes for betting.
Salt: the hash of the blockchain block in which betting closed for a round. Public, and unknowable in advance by anyone. See Provably Fair.
Hash chain: the mechanism that lets Astro commit to millions of future outcomes in advance, while keeping each individual round's result secret until after betting closes.
Bankroll: the shared pool of USDG that pays out winning bets and absorbs losing ones. Anyone can deposit into it.
ASTROLP: the ERC-4626 share token you receive when you deposit into the Bankroll. Its value moves with the Bankroll's performance.
Share price: how much one ASTROLP is worth in USDG. Rises when the house wins, falls when it pays out more than it collects.
High-Water-Mark (HWM): the highest share price the Bankroll has ever reached. The protocol only takes a performance fee on gains above this mark, never on money the Bankroll is still recovering.
House edge: the statistical advantage that keeps the Bankroll solvent over many rounds. See Payouts & Limits.
XP: experience points earned for playing, used to determine your level. See XP & Quests.
Embedded wallet: the self-custodial wallet Astro creates for you automatically on login. See Embedded Wallet.
Gas drip: the mechanism that automatically tops up your wallet's ETH balance so you can pay for transactions without manually acquiring gas yourself. See Gas Drip.
